Experience Snorkelling

If you have never tried snorkelling before, then the best place to start is an Experience Snorkelling session. Experience Snorkelling is a fun trial session in the swimming pool where your BSAC instructor will introduce you to the basic snorkelling kit and skills.

Restrictions

Snorkelling is a sport that requires general physical fitness and good health. Anyone with a medical history of diabetes, blackouts(epilepsy, etc.), perforated eardrums, high blood pressure or heart disease, any lung or respiratory disorder( such as Asthma), or dependence on drugs, may not be able to dive safely and so MUST seek specialist advice before contemplating taking up this sport including a taster session.

Try Dives are available on the understanding that the person taking part:

  1. Considers themselves medically fit and does not suffer from any of the disqualifying conditions mentioned above
  2. If medically unfit, has obtained approval to dive from a medical referee, ukdmc.org
  3. Will, in the interests of safety, comply with all instruction given to them by the instructor
  4. Is able to swim and is confident in water

There is no upper age limit as long as you are medically fit. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who needs to sign the club’s form on their behalf. The club complies with British Sub Aqua Club Safeguarding Policies with regard to all try dives carried out with minors.
